We have three services on Sundays…8:00am, 10:30am and 5:30pm.Our 8:00am Rite I Communion service uses an older-style, traditional language. The service is held in the Church and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour long.
The 10:30am Rite II Communion service uses contemporary language and has traditional music led by the organ and the choir (except during the summer). This service is also held in the Church, but can also be found online and lasts about 45 minutes to an hour long.
Our 5:30pm Evening Grace service is a Rite II Communion service with familiar hymns set to contemporary arrangements. This service is held in the Church and lasts 45 minutes to an hour long.
The typical dress for Sunday morning services tends toward buisiness casual, but a more casual style is also appropriate - especially during the summer months! The 5:30 service is definitely a more casual atmosphere. Whatever your preference, we hope to see you on Sunday and rest assured you will be welcomed in whatever you choose to wear!
Please sit wherever you feel most comfortable. The ushers are happy to help you with any special needs or seating requirements you may have, including wheelchairs and devices for the hearing impaired. Also, if it’s difficult for you to come to the altar for Communion, we will be happy to bring it to you in your pew. Just be sure to let the ushers know so they can inform the priests.
We understand that some people prefer to remain inconspicuous when they visit a church for the fist time. We will not ask you to stand or otherwise make yourself known. We do hope you’ll introduce yourself to one of the clergy in the receiving line after the service, and we truly hope you feel welcome here! There are also Welcome Cards in the pews – if you complete one of those and give it to one of the ushers or one of the priests, someone will be in touch with you very soon to learn more about you and your story.
Church of Our Saviour is a congregation that loves children and youth. We are committed to offering substantive and lasting Christian formation in a safe environment full of healthy friendships. We offer a nursery for infants to 5 year-olds from 9:00am-12:00pm, children's church for children age 3 to 3rd grade at the 10:30am service, and children's formation groups from 9:30am-10:15am each Sunday. There are also separate small groups for youth in 4th-12th grades from 9:30am-10:15am each Sunday. The youth group for 6-12th graders also meets on Sunday and Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:00pm. Although we continue to offer nursery and children's church (Kid's Word) during the summer, youth and children take a break on Sunday mornings and the youth have a different schedule over the summer.
All Sunday morning worship services last about 45 minutes to an hour long.
That’s OK! All are welcome and encouraged to participate. You will receive a bulletin when you arrive for the service and it usually contains everything you need. Or if you prefer, you can use the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) which is the red book located in the pews.
All baptized Christians – no matter their age or denomination – are welcome to participate in Holy Communion. Visitors who are not baptized are welcome to come forward to the altar during Communion to receive a blessing from the priest.
